Thanks to you and your dedicated team for the kind and considerate way you dealt with my wife. Your funeral arrangements were exactly as I wished, everything beautifully executed and professional.

Services and Facilities

We provide a wide range of services to cater for your individual needs. We have provided a small sample of what we provide on this page, but please do contact us for more extensive information or more unusual requests.

Premises and Chapels of Rest
We have three funeral homes, located in Wakefield, Outwood and Horbury. Our Chapels of Rest are private and tastefully decorated spaces that allow you to spend time with your loved one and family in comfort. We have chapels located at each of our homes.

Funeral Cars and Transportation
Our fleet of funeral vehicles are important to the service we provide which is why we invest in them. We have a modern fleet of Jaguar limousines and hearse. We also cater for more unusual forms of transport such as motorbike and horse drawn hearses.

Caskets and Coffins
We supply a traditional style coffin which suits all local requirements for burial or cremation. However, we can provide a variety of styles to suit all tastes including Willow and coloured designs. links to: Steve Soult, Colourful Coffins, The London Casket Company.

Floral Tributes
Flowers often say more than words can. We can arrange flowers covering a range of tributes. You can choose from various displays or have an arrangement individually designed if you have something more specific in mind. Link to: West End florist, Blackburns florist.

Poems and Readings
It is often difficult to find the words we need. Thankfully others have been there before us, and have managed to put into words the feelings and thoughts we may find difficult to express ourselves. We are happy to suggest readings or poems that may be appropriate for you. Some families take comfort from poetry that they have written themselves, verses from scripture or poems. We have found a free website that has a good collection of material if you are looking for inspiration Poetic Expressions. Please do donate to Marie Curie Cancer Care through their site.

If you would like a notice to be placed in the local paper to announce a death, we can help with the wording and contact the paper on your behalf. Our own website also has an obituaries page which is provided free to our customers. Please follow this link to see the latest obituaries.

It can be comforting to mark the place of burial with a memorial, here are some considerations.
  • Alternatives to stone memorials or plaques could be planting a tree or donating a bench
  • Memorial gardens at some crematorium allow the family to have a plaque inscribed
  • Cemeteries may have their own regulations regarding memorials, covering material type, size etc.
  • Forms of memorials can include grave stones, plaques, wooden crosses etc.
  • Design may include some inscription relevant to the deceased life, photograph or emblem from a trade
  • Wording can be simple, name, date of death and age, or it may include poetry or lines from a sacred text
  • You may wish to leave space for future inscriptions
